Yes, Dooeys are sustainable slippers. They are thoughtfully designed and consciously crafted in Europe, where we have partnered with a factory that focuses on sustainable processes and ethical treatment of its workers. We choose plant-based and recycled materials to make our house shoes, which are 100% vegan. Learn more about our materials and factory here.

We also offset carbon emissions for the shipment of every order and our shoebox combines as the shipping box and is made from recycled carboard & recycled paper.

We are proud to say all Dooeys are made in small batches in Portugal, a country well known for its manufacturing of high-quality footwear. 

For exterior cleaning, you can simply wipe the apple leather clean with a damp cloth. As for the vegan recycled polyester suede, it will depend on the cleaning need:

SPOT CLEANING: Gently pat spills with a paper towel until absorbed. For dried-in soiling, lightly brush or vacuum the stained area. If this doesn’t work, try wiping the stained area from the outside in with a well-wrung white cloth dampened in lukewarm water.

OIL-BASED STAINS: Try to wipe up oily stains as much as possible—without spreading the stain—with a dry cloth or paper towel. Pat the stained area with a white cloth soaked in ethyl alcohol from the outside in, and pat the loosened dirt and oil off with a dry cloth.

For interior cleaning, you can wipe down the cork insoles with a damp cloth. Pro tip: for your Dooeys or any other shoes, we suggest placing Natural Bamboo Charcoal Bags inside when you’re not wearing them to absorb excess moisture and remove any odor.

Need to exchange your pair? No problem. So long as your shoes are unworn (in new condition), undamaged, and in their original packaging.

Send us an email at hello@dooeys.com within 14 days of receiving your order and we’ll send you a prepaid return label. We ask you send your original pair back within 14 days of receiving your return shipping label and we'll ship out your new pair as soon as we’ve received your initial pair. Holidays — we will extend our holiday return/exchange window during the holiday season to January 14th for all orders placed in November & December. 

Please note: there is a limit of one free exchange per pair per order. After which, customer will need to pay for shipping costs.

We want you to be happy with your Dooeys. If for any reason it doesn’t work out, contact us at hello@dooeys.com within 14 days of receiving your shoes to return or exchange your order. Just make sure your shoes are unworn (in new condition), undamaged, and in their original packaging.

We will provide a return shipping label and the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from the refund amount.

If you choose to exchange, shipping is free.

Holidays — we will extend our holiday return/exchange window during the holiday season to January 14th for all orders placed in November & December. 

We ask you send your Dooeys back within 14 days of receiving your return shipping label.

As soon as the shoes' condition has been reviewed and approved, your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 5 business days.

Our house shoes for women tend to run a bit snug so we recommend if you tend to be between two half sizes depending on the brand, to go with your larger size.
